For more than 25 years, AQAI – Applied Quality Assurance in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine – has been dedicated to one mission: improving patient safety through realistic medical simulation. Our training programs bring healthcare professionals together to learn, practice, and refine their skills in a safe, hands-on environment.
Our Story
Founded in 1997 by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Heinrichs at the University Medical Center Mainz, AQAI was one of the first medical simulation centers in Germany. Since day one, our goal has been simple and clear: to enhance safety and quality in acute care medicine.
What We Do
Today, the Mainz Simulation Center is one of Europe’s largest private institutes for patient safety.
We provide basic, advanced, and specialized training in anesthesia, intensive care, emergency medicine, radiology, cardiology, endoscopy, and many other fields where simulation-based learning helps save lives.
